Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China, in Shanghai on the margins of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO).
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister was accompanied by Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunications; Mr. Ali Mustafa Dar, Adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Special Initiatives; Mr. Bilal Bin Saqib, Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA); Dr. Syed Asad Ali Gillani, Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific), Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Aizaz Khan, Pakistan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Beijing, China.
The two sides reviewed the broad canvas of Pakistan–China bilateral relations. They expressed satisfaction over the continued strength and steady growth of the bilateral partnership. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further deepening the Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The two sides underscored the importance of advancing high-quality development under CPEC 2.0. They agreed to strengthen practical cooperation and enhance collaboration in trade, investment, science and technology, the digital economy and artificial intelligence.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional and global developments. Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to maintain close coordination and continue consultations on issues of mutual interest. Both leaders also reiterated their commitment to continue cooperation at multilateral fora.
The meeting further reinforced Pakistan–China strategic cooperation. It also reflected the shared commitment of the two countries to innovation-driven development and cooperation in emerging technologies.
