The first round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Rwanda was held in Kigali on 20th January 2025. Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary (Africa), led the Pakistani delegation, while AmbassadorClementine Mukeka, Permanent Secretary of Rwanda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed the Rwandan side.
The wide-ranging discussions focused on shared commitment to deepening diplomatic relations and identifying avenues for win-win cooperation.
Both sides agreed on the potential benefits of enhanced cooperation, in the areas of trade & investment including initiation of MoU on Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), defence and security, education, culture, science, Information Technology and agriculture. The two sides underscored the importance of international cooperation in tackling common global challenges and resolved to deepen cooperation in multilateral fora.
Earlier the two sides signed the MoU instituting the Bilateral Political Consultations between the two friendly countries.
