The National Day of Pakistan, the 'Pakistan Resolution Day', was celebrated at the Chancery of the High Commission of Pakistan in Floreal on 23 March, 2024.  Several Pakistani expatriates living in Mauritius were invited to mark this event with their presence.  The messages of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif were read out.

            In the message of the Honourable President of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Asif Ali Zardari recalled the circumstances in which Pakistan was created, when Muslims from the Indian sub-continent visualised the dream to have a separate country where they could live in justice and equality. The Prime Minister of Pakistan in his message, paid tribute to the father of the nation Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and all leaders of Freedom Movement.

            In his remarks, H.E. Muhammad Arshad Jan Pathan, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Mauritius highlighted the importance of March 23^rd and also paid tribute to the leaders who united the Muslims of the sub-continent and achieved independence of our country after 7 years on 14^th August, 1947.

At the end of event, the High Commissioner thanked Pakistani diaspora and other guests for attending the event.
