The Pakistani community in Tunisia is compose of approximately 50 people. There are many Pakistanis who are engaged in white collar professions and are working for multinational companies. The language barrier and a high rate of unemployment within Tunisia make it difficult for Pakistanis to seek employment here. Some of Pakistanis are working in the United Nations and its Specialized Agencies. Few others are working for multinational companies and banks. No Pakistani student is receiving education at any Tunisian institution due to the fact that the medium of education in Tunisia is in French language. Given the small numbers, any problem faced by a community member is resolved at personal level through ease of access and contacts established by the Mission’s officers and officials.
