(2009-01-03) President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the award of Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam on H.E. Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Ambassador of China to Pakistan in a graceful ceremony at the Presidency today. The award has been conferred in recognition of the services of the Ambassador in promoting Pak-China relations and taking extraordinary interest in concluding many agreements and projects of high value between the two countries. It also indicates the rapid progress in the bilateral relations and mutually beneficial collaboration between the two countries which is a matter of great satisfaction for both sides. Thanking the President on this occasion, the Ambassador stated that he was highly honored to receive the award. He stated that it was a privilege for him to serve in Pakistan and work for strengthening the bilateral cooperation. Over the years, the traditional friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries has continued to develop. Both countries have signed many agreements and have agreed to initiate new projects. This multi-dimensional cooperation is constantly growing and following an upward trajectory. The Ambassador stated that China attaches high priority to its relations with Pakistan and vowed to continue to work for further development of bilateral relations. Islamabad 03 January 2009
