Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)

ECO is an important regional organization for economic development and Pakistan is one of its founding members. Pakistan considers ECO as an important platform for regional cooperation. The 15th ECO Summit was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on 28 November, 2021 under the theme of “Into the Future Together”. President of Islamic Dr. Arif Alvi represented Pakistan. The 16th Summit was held on 8-9 November 2023 in Tashkent Uzbekistan. Pakistan was represented by Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. The 27th COM was held in Shusha, Azerbaijan on 9-10 October 2023 under the theme of ‘Green Transition and Inter-Connectivity’. Pakistan was represented by the Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.
