On the occasion of Pakistan National Day, a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan Embassy in Berne. Ambassador Dr. Marghoob Saleem Butt hoisted the national flag in the presence of members of the Pakistani community, students, civil society representatives, and local media.
The event commemorated the historic significance of 23 March 1940, when the leaders of the Pakistan Movement, under the guidance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, adopted the Pakistan Resolution, paving the way for an independent homeland for Muslims.
The gathering also coincided with celebrations of Eid ul-Fitr, offering an opportunity for the community to come together in a spirit of joy, gratitude, and unity. The occasion reflected both national pride and the festive essence of Eid, making it a truly memorable event for all attendees.
The Ambassador extended his heartfelt greetings to the Pakistani diaspora in Switzerland and emphasized the importance of honoring this legacy while renewing a collective commitment to building a strong and prosperous Pakistan in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
