High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem inaugurated the Sadequain Art Exhibition in Mississauga, Canada, today to celebrate the enduring legacy of Syed Ahmed Sadequain Naqvi (1930-1987), one of Pakistan’s most distinguished artistic visionaries.
Organized by the Sadequain Foundation in collaboration with local hosts and media partners, the exhibition seeks to illuminate the profound depth, symbolism and cultural resonance embedded in his invaluable body of work.
The free event is expected to draw an impressive and diverse gathering of visitors, including connoisseurs of art and calligraphy, members of the media, representatives of civil society and students from the Aga Khan Foundation Academy Toronto. Through this immersive experience, attendees are afforded a rare opportunity to engage with Sadequain’s extraordinary artistic expression through both his paintings and calligraphy while also reflecting on Pakistan’s rich and enduring contributions to the global landscape of art and culture.
Adding intellectual depth to the occasion, the esteemed Pakistani scholar and poet Ashfaq Hussain is set to offer thoughtful insights into Sadequain’s multifaceted legacy, exploring his remarkable contributions not only to visual art but also to poetry and scholarship.
