Quebec-Pakistan Relations
Over the past more than seven decades, Pakistan and Quebec have been enjoying friendly relations. Quebec is the second largest province of Canada, both area-wise (1.668million sq km) and population-wise (8.9million). The province has a strong economy with a GDP with a GDP of US$452billion (2024) and foreign trade of US$217billion (2023) with US$111billion exports and US$106billion imports.
Vital Trading Partner
Historically Pakistan has been enjoying substantially beneficial bilateral trade with Quebec with the Balance of Tarde remaining in Pakistan’s favour. Among Canadian provinces, Quebec has been the destination of one-quarter to one-third of Pakistan’s total exports to Canada. During the calendar year 2021, Pakistan's exports to Quebec crossed the US$100 million mark for the first time.
Recent Trade
During the calendar year 2024, Pakistan’s exports to Quebec were recorded at US$90.59million and imports at US$39.28million, leading to a favourable Balance of Trade of US$51.31million.
