Driving License Verification

Requirements:

• The physical presence of the applicant
• The applicant's driver's license and copy 
• The applicant's valid NIC/original Pakistani Passport and copy
• The applicant's proof of current address (e.g. copy of a utility bill, lease agreement, bank statement, etc.)

Fee: CAD 50

Processing Time: The Document is returned/issued after completion of the process

Driving License Renewal

Driving Licences issued in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

• Submit the following documents/copies, preferably attested, to the Consulate General:
  • passport, proof of stay abroad e.g. foreign country’s residence card/passport, Entry/Exit stamps from passport, etc.
  • scan of both sides of the CNIC,
  • scan of both sides of the expired driving licence (expiry should not exceed three years),
  • a recent picture with white background,
  • latest medical fitness certificate by the registered medical practitioner in the country of residence,
  • Authority Letter (format can be obtained from the Consulate General) for a nominee in Pakistan who will deposit government fee for Licence renewal in Pakistan as well as collect the licence after it has been issued for onward dispatch to the Overseas Pakistani Licence holder.
• The Consulate General will transmit/forward the submitted documents to the concerned authorities in Pakistan for the renewal of the Driving Licence.

Driving Licences issued in Punjab 

1. Login at www.dlims.punjab.gov.pk or Punjab Police Pakistan App.
2. Register yourself,
3. Go to Licence tab and then select Renewal option in regular licence Menu,
4. Enter your existing licence details and upload, when required, the following, preferably attested by the nearest Pakistani diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate):
   1. a recent picture with white background,
   2. scan of both sides of the existing Licence,
   3. scan of both sides of the CNIC,
   4. proof of stay abroad e.g. foreign country’s residence card/passport, Entry/Exit stamps from passport, etc.
   5. latest medical fitness certificate by the registered medical practitioner in the country of residence, 
5.  Pay fee through PSID (electronically)
6. Submit the application online.

Driving Licences issued in Islamabad Capital Territory 

1.  Log in at https://ict.islamabadpolice.gov.pk:4433/dl/signin.php
2. Register yourself,
3. Follow instructions for submitting Renewal application,
4. Upload, when asked, the following, preferably attested by the nearest Pakistani diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate):
   1. a recent picture with white background,
   2. scan of both sides of the existing Licence,
   3. scan of both sides of the CNIC,
   4. proof of stay abroad e.g. foreign country’s residence card/passport, Entry/Exit stamps from passport, etc.
   5. latest medical fitness certificate by the registered medical practitioner of the country of residence
   6. Authority Letter for a nominee in Pakistan who will deposit government fee for Licence renewal in Pakistan as well as collect the licence after it has been issued for onward dispatch to the Overseas Pakistani Licence holder. 

POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

Requirements:

• Physical presence of the Applicant at the Consulate General (please seek prior appointment at parepmontreal1@mofa.gov.pk before visiting)
• Passport size photograph with white background
• Valid Pakistani NIC and two-sidedcopy showing address. The facility is not available for Khyber Pakhtunkwa and Sindh provinces at the moment.
• Pakistani Passport and copy (particulars and signature pages)
• Proof of Residence at the current address in Canada (e.g. copy of a utility bill/rent agreement)
• A list of all the addresses the applicant lived at while in Pakistan alongwith names of the concerned Police Stations and dates (from-to) of stay
• Period for which Police Clearance Certificate is required 
• Applicant mobile and email
• Name and mobile number (and preferably copy of NIC) of someone known to the applicant and living in the area at which the applicant lived while in Pakistan
• Other documents on a case by case basis

Fee: CAD 50

Applicants can pay by Debit Card at the PoS machine at the Consular Counter of the Mission. Alternatively, payment can be deposited at the Bank of Montreal through bank transfer. Proof of the deposit of the fee is required in the latter case.

AUTHORITY LETTER THROUGH POST

Requirements:

• Application (in Urdu or English) addressed to concerned police authorities giving details of stay dates/duration/address in Pakistan
• Photograph attached to the Application
• Documentary proof of stay in Pakistan e.g. Rent Agreement, Utility bill in Applicant’s name, Entry/Exit stamps in Passport etc.
• Copy of the Passport held during stay in Pakistan
• Authority Letter signed by the Applicant and two witnesses
• Copy of Applicant's current Passport
• Applicant's Canadian PR/Long Term Visa
• Applicant's proof of current address e.g. Rent Agreement, Utility bill in Applicant’s name, 
• Copies of passports of the two witnesses
• Copy of the NIC of the Attorney in Pakistan
• Proof of payment of Fee (CAD 50)
• Arrangement for pick up of the document from the Consulate General after it is ready

RENUNCIATION OF PAKISTANI CITIZENSHIP

1.    Form – X and Computer Proforma (Typed not hand-written, no column should be left blank). Sample follows.
2.    Applicant’s original Pakistani ID/NICOP 
3.    Applicant’s original Pakistan Passport (All previously issued Pakistani passports have to be surrendered to the Consulate in Original)
4.    06 passport size photographs in white background
5.    Copies of all documents i.e. NICOP/Birth Certificate/Pakistan Passport of the minor children, residing abroad, where applicable.
       a.    Names of minors residing abroad at the time of declaration should be included in Form-X if the parents also desire renunciation of their (children) Pakistani citizenship. 
6.    The copies of Nikah-nama/divorce papers, of the female applicant, if passport / NICOP is not modified with husband/father’s name respectively.
7.    Copy of Following documents issued by Government of Canada

       a.    Copy of Canadian passport
       b.    Copy of Canadian ID/Driving license
       c.    Assurance letter for Foreign citizenship issued by Immigration of Canada, if applicable   

Fee: CAD 100

Note:
     i.    The Renunciation Certificate would be issued as per Form “X”. Therefore name spellings on form “X”, NICOP, Pakistani Passport, Assurance letter/foreign Passport should be the same. In case of any variation/name change, an application with supporting document may be attached with the application.

    ii.    Provisional renunciation related letters, certificate, etc. will be issued on payment of CAD 50/- wherever applicable.  

    iii.    Case would be submitted in seven copies/sets

Processing Time:

The application is transmitted to the DGIMPASS (Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, Islamabad) through the Consulate General’s monthly diplomatic bag. Thereafter, the processing time depends upon DGIMPASS’ printing/dispatch of the Renunciation Certificate to the Consulate General which may take 10/12 weeks.
